If you have children than you should fully understand how what you do or don't do will touch them as they grow up. The best way to fight for good health for your kids is to modify the way that you spend your life and to make it fun for them also. This does not mean that you have to become a vegan or go crazy. The easiest way to do this is to make little modifications that can be easily arranged into your daily routine.
Healthy Eating
The healthiest place to start is with how you eat. It is time to cut down on the amount of fast food that you eat up. I live a busy life and I frequently don’t have the energy it takes to cook. That is when I seek to pick easy to make meals. One week I will cook fish and asparagus in the same pan and flavor it with lemon juice and Mrs. Dash seasoning.
On a couple of other nights I will have a salad for dinner full of eggs, spinach, tomatoes, cheese, and olives. Be sure that your kids eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and if you have to eat out go somewhere like Subway or Chick-Fil-A that offer healthy, low calorie meals.
Exercise
How many of us complain that we don’t have the time in our busy lives to exercise at the gym? Who says you must exercise at the gym? All you need to do is exercise at least half an hour each day. After dinner you and the children can go walking around the neighborhood or ride your bikes.
Why not also endeavor to teach them how to do sit ups and push ups? You might make a competition out of it and give them an incentive to do it. My three year old loves to mimic me while I use my Pilates machine. She also has her own one pound dumbbells!
