How YOU Can Be Healthy Again

Recently I have been trying to ship myself back into shape. It is true that my ending goal is to lose quite a few pounds - but in the middle of losing weight I set out to follow a new life style that I have never done before. I preferred to be healthier so I begun to switch the things that I did and what I consumed.

One of the first things that I did was to exercise more. I love to exercise - but my hectic schedule and trying to spend time with my family made it very difficult for me to do this. I was not able to make it to the gym before it closed without spending time with my daughter or missing important work opportunities. But I wasn’t going to take no for an answer.

To work around this obstacle I bought some weights and a multi-chin up bar along with a few work out DVD’s to get me to work at home. I found myself working out at least for 30 minutes every night and I felt better for it. Any time I skip a workout I feel guilty and bad like I am not helping my body or my mind.

With the exercising done and me being on track with that I also strove to make sure I was eating healthier foods. This means no eating out at places that sold only fatty, fried foods and no drinks laden with caffeine and sugar. I completely cut sodas out of my diet and drink water or sugar free drinks only. Did you know that sugar is worse then fat in foods and drinks that you consume because it will slow down your metabolism?

This diet meant that I spent less time in McDonalds and more time in places like Subways. I began to eat smaller portions and order more salads for lunch. I also substituted my beloved chocolate for sugar free cookies and fat free ice cream.

Cooking was easier to change because I didn’t do much of it anyway. Instead of using vegetable oil to cook with I tried to substitute it with other types of oils like olive or nutmeg oil. Did you know that there are health advantages in nutmeg oil?

Now I am losing weight and have more energy to do things. I am able to wake up early, get my work done on time, and finish the night relaxed instead of stressed out. Adopting this healthy lifestyle has given me a new look on life and enables me to be a good example for my daughter as she grows.
