Different Exercises To Stop Snoring

Many people will laugh about snoring and the fact that their partner or family member constantly does it while sleeping. It may seem like a funny problem - but this condition makes it extremely hard to sleep with a chain saw next to them.

There are many methods that help to keep people from snoring and each one is publicized and ‘proven’ to be the method to beat all others. We can’t say for sure what method is the best to use - but we do know there are many on the market. Some people will try surgery, other will try special over the counter medicines, and home remedies. Some people even try exercises to stop snoring.

There are two very good exercises that will help some people to stop snoring. The most common exercises that people use will help to reduce snoring and lose weight all over your body. Losing weight is great when it comes to stop snoring. Many people who are overweight will snore because the fatty tissue on and around their neck is too much and will partially obstruct the airways and will add pressure to the diaphragm.

However, there are other exercises that work to strengthen the tongue, throat, and jaw muscles. This will help to keep your airways from becoming blocked. These exercises are facial and voice exercises.

To perform the facial exercises push your tongue out as far as you can. Hold it for a few seconds before relaxing it. Now try to use your tongue to touch your chin. Hold it for a few seconds and relax. Next use your tongue to touch your nose. Hold for a few seconds and then relax it. Do all three of these exercises - one after the other - ten times. For ten seconds do an exaggerated smile and then relax when the time is up. Try to do this as many times as your face will allow.

The perfect voice exercise to use is the one that professional singers use to help strengthen their throat. At the top of your voice sing la la la la. Make sure to hold out each note (la) for three seconds. Repeat this exercise 5 times. Do the same exercise - but using ka ka ka ka and then ma ma ma ma. Try to use all of the muscles in your throat without straining them too much.
