Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasik Eye Surgery

Lasik eye surgery is a procedure that helps to repair someone’s vision. With this procedure they no longer have to use contacts or glasses in order to read or see far in front of them. But with every medical procedure there are risks to lasik eye surgery.

Advantages

- Lasik can correct most levels of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
- The procedure is quick and may only last 5 to 10 minutes. It is also virtually painless.
- It is precise and the results are usually very accurate.
- One treatment will usually fix the problem.

Disadvantages

- Each patient heals differently and therefore they may have problems.
- The procedure could go wrong and cause vision to become worse. This includes glare, halos, and night vision.
- It may create dry-eye symptoms worse.
